Hey there people! Okay, so the date of the class gathering has been decided. Yeah, it is 11 September. If anybody has any strong objections to this designed date (which is a Wednesday), please feel free to call or email me. Yup, and I prepared a list of activities that you can do there, they are all games that I have learnt during speech and drama. And one of them is provided by the kind and adorable Eileen. :D In case you feel bored or something, you can try out the games I listed there. Yeah, but if you have got something to do there, like soccer, badminton, or maybe even the playground, then just ignore the list. :D Food and drinks are to be brought by the class (including me duh), but if you really cannot or you are broke (like me), then you can choose not to. :D Yup, and the venue is the shelter that is just, like you know, the place where many go there to play badminton, etc. If you are still unsure of the place, feel free to call or email me again. :D Okay, here’s the end of my email. Players: More than 8

There will be a NARRATOR, two POLAR BEARS, two SPIERS and the rest are VILLAGERS.

The players will be sitting in a circle.

The narrator will then tell everyone to “go to sleep”. This means that the players lay their heads down and close their eyes. The narrator will then appoint the polar bears and the spies.

Then the game will begin.

First, the narrator will say “everyone, please go to sleep”. After everyone lay their heads down,

She will then say “polar bears please wake up”. The appointed polar bears will then wake up and choose the villagers they want to kill. The spies will be also peeping to find out who the polar bears are. After the polar bears chose who to kill, the narrator will then say “polar bears go to sleep”. After that, she will say, “everyone please wake up”.

She will then make up a story. (i.e. Yesterday night, there was a gruesome murder. One of our fellow villagers was killed.) Then she will reveal who the victim is. The victim will have to sit out of the game. (if the polar bears caught the spies peeping, they can kill them.)

All the villagers will then vote for the person they think is the polar bear. The highest votes for that person mean that she will have to sit out of the game. However, this person may or may not be the polar bear.

Repeat the game until the polar bears are all caught.

Yay, and Huilin send this email to me, asking me to vote for when to hold the class gathering.
And since she's not an author of this blog, the oh-so-great me offered to help her update about it on the class blog. :D

Yeah, I know it is an extremely boring place but try to bear with it kays? Think of all the fun we have had as a class! :D

If half the class cannot make it or did not reply to this email, then the gathering will be like, sort of cancelled. D: So please reply whether your votes and try to make it! And vote whether you want the class gathering to be held in which day of the September holidays or on Teacher’s day (i.e. 1st September). If you want, you might want to tell me about better places that we can hold the class gathering. But only if the others are agreeable. And reply to this email by 25th August.

Hamster Showdown

On Saturday my hamster, Chubby and my friend's 2 other hamsters had a fight.
My friend's (actually my friend's brother's) hamsters are called Wayne and Ronaldo. haha.

First they managed to take Ronaldo out but Wayne kept running away beacause my friend's brother did't know how to pick them up properly.

So it was Chubby VS Ronaldo and Chubby pounced on Ronaldo when i let loose of him. I quickly yanked him out though Chubby was still clinging on to him. Poor Ronaldo.

Later on Wayne was put in the pail thingy with Ronaldo and when my friend's dad took Chubby and TRIED to put him in but Chubby squeaked very loudly and backed out as if he thought that 2 VS 1 was not fair. So They took out Ronaldo and its was Chubby VS Wayne. But Chubby tried to attack Wayne so again out him goes.

this blog is getting alive, but not alive enough........stars nit was so damn cool!!!! annessa screamed lik hell........i encouraged her to, but only a little. hehe.....my sis performance was so darn nice!!!! we clapped lik crazy. especially me, cos its my sis.she was part of the finale! but the worse part of the whole night was the guy that fell off the stage onto the ground. OMG!!!!!! my sis said he had some blood on the side of his face and i saw that he needed help to stand up. he was wearin the really huge mask, then cannot see......so.....fell of the darn stage! but the rest was ok. not to mention, annessa P5 photo was shown! haha. jus joking annessa, dun b so angry, cos its true. lol times 2. talk to u people next time!

Tuesday marks the release of the latest chapter of mayhem in fictional Liberty City, home to the successful "Grand Theft Auto" video game franchise from Rockstar Games.
The long-awaited game, whose release was pushed back from last November, has a history of success at the cash register. And the latest instalment should be even more profitable considering that it is available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users right from the get-go. In the past, Xbox users have had to wait for their version of the game to come out.
The last blockbuster game release was "Halo 3," an Xbox-exclusive title that took in an estimated US$170 million in its first 24 hours of release last fall in the U.S., according to Microsoft. "GTA 4" is expected to surpass that take - and the $300 million that "Halo 3" took in during the first week.
"We think even just on Xbox 360, it's got a shot at dethroning 'Halo 3,"' said Jason Anderson, head of marketing for Xbox Canada.
"A staggering figure," Matt Levitan, marketing and PR manager for PlayStation Canada, said of estimates of US$400 million in opening sales.
That prospect prompted chains like Future Shop and Best Buy to open select stores at midnight Monday to take advantage of gamers' hunger to buy it.
Fuelling the success of the game is the rapidly growing number of next-generation consoles being sold, although "GTA 4" is not available on the popular Nintendo Wii system.
The new game showcases Niko Bellic, who has left his native eastern Europe to escape his past. ("During the war, I did some bad things and bad things happened to us. I was very young and very angry.") Bellic seeks his fortune, along with cousin Roman, in Liberty City. As they fall into debt, the two find themselves slipping further into the criminal underworld.
The early reviews have been raves. Eurogamer.net gave it 10 out of 10. So did IGN, Game Informer, TeamXbox and VideoGamer.
"'GTA IV' gives us characters and a world with a level of depth previously unseen in gaming and elevates its story from a mere shoot-'em-up to an Oscar-calibre drama," says IGN. "Every facet of Rockstar's new masterpiece is worthy of applause. Without question, 'Grand Theft Auto IV' is the best game since 'Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."'
"'Grand Theft Auto IV' is the greatest game to come out for the Xbox 360 so far," said TeamXbox.com.
The "Grand Theft Auto" franchise is seen as ground-breaking in the video game world because it moved gamers into a wide-open world full of choices - and consequences - rather than taking them along a rigid path. Rated M for mature, the game also drew fire for its "do anything to anyone" style of play that includes murder, carjacking and assault.
But IGN says this game's protagonist comes with real pathos.
"Starting from nothing, Niko makes a living as a killer and enforcer, a bad-ass foreigner who appears to have no morals. The longer we stay with Niko, the more we see that there is a broken human being inside, one who would give anything to escape the person he once was."
"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," the last game in the series, sold more than nine million copies when it was released in 2004, according to NPD Group which tracks the industry.
One of the attractions of "GTA 4" is the multiplayer aspect, with up to 16 people able to play together.
"Multiplayer is critical ... Gaming is social in nature," said Anderson. "This is not about 17-year-old boys alone in dark basements. It's about getting together with your buddies and playing."
"There's already so many hours built into a 'Grand Theft Auto' game," said Levitan. "This extends the life of the game even further."
Xbox, which operates its own highly successful Xbox Live online service, will also offer exclusive downloadable content in the fall. Sony hopes to offer something similar down the line but for the time being notes that its online PlayStation Network is free, unlike Xbox Live. Levitan also notes that "GTA 4" will load off the PS3 hard drive, possibly making game play quicker.
Anderson points to "Gears of War 2," slated for release in the fall, as the next big title. Levitan points to "Metal Gear Solid 4."
Video game publisher Take-Two, which owns Rockstar, has been subject to a US$2-billion hostile takeover bid from Electronic Arts since February. Take-Two has been holding out, refusing to enter formal talks with EA or any other suitor until April 30, the day after "GTA 4" goes on sale.

Hamsters

Hamsters are rodents belonging to the subfamily Cricetinae. The subfamily contains about 18 species, classified in six or seven genera. Because they are easy to breed in captivity, hamsters are often used as lab animals and kept as pets in more economically developed countries.

Recently hamsters have become established as popular small family pets.
Hamsters are crepuscular. In the wild, they burrow underground in the daylight to avoid being caught by predators.

They are most active around dusk and dawn, which has led many people to mistake them for being nocturnal. In the wild they will eat any wheat, nuts and small bits of fruit and vegetables that they might find lying around on the ground, occasionally eating small insects such as small crickets or mealworms. The name hamster is derived from the German word hamstern which means to hoard. They have elongated fur-lined pouches on both sides of their heads which extend to their shoulders, which they stuff full of food to be brought back to the colony or to be eaten later.

Their diet contains a variety of foods both in the wild and when kept as a pets including dried food, berries and nuts, hard boiled or scrambled eggs, chicken and turkey. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also an integral part of their diet. Behavior can vary depending on their environment, genetics, and interaction with people.
